Do you tip lugg movers? ›

Tipping is entirely optional, but if you want to reward your movers for a job well done you'll have the opportunity to do so in our app, right after your Lugg is completed.

Lugg does not provide packing services. All your items will need to be packed and ready for loading once your Lugg arrives.

Lugg Van - at least 8ft long, 4ft wide and 5ft tall (King or Cal King mattresses will not fit in this option). Lugg XL - will be at least 10ft long, 6ft wide and 7ft tall.

It is typically recommended that you tip movers between 20% of the total moving cost. If you'd like to tip per movers, consider $20 to $30 per person for a local move and $50 per person for long-distance moves.

How much should I tip my movers? A good rule of thumb is to tip $5 to $10 per hour per mover. This can mean $50 to $100 per mover for a full-day move. However, if your move is particularly difficult, you might consider tipping 20% of the total cost.

For the safety of the Luggers, your items, and your locations, we do have a weight limit in place of 100 pounds per Lugger, or 200 pounds per crew.

After your Lugg is complete, we will then charge the card that's associated with your account. You'll also be prompted to leave a rating & review, and optional tip for your crew the next time you open the Lugg app.

Packers and movers are skilled at what they do

If you hire them for your move, they will take care of all the packing, loading, unloading and unpacking for you. They come with trucks and vans equipped with lifting devices so that they can transport household items effectively in the shortest time possible.

All Luggers will arrive with a dolly of some form, moving blankets, stretch wrap, and a screwdriver/drill with basic bits. If anything specific is needed, the customer should have it available for the crew should they need it. We do not provide moving boxes or mattress covers.

Does Lugg move refrigerators, washers & dryers, pianos, and other large items? Yes, we do! However, in most cases, it requires two Lugg crews to successfully move these items. Please schedule two separate crews during the same pickup window to ensure a smooth move with these heavier items.

What is the Lugg credit card charge? ›

This charge is not a booking fee, it's simply a pre-authorization charge in order to verify your bank account is valid, and funds are available. Each time you schedule a Lugg, we run a pre-auth charge. These funds will never leave your bank and should show as available within 3-5 days, depending on your bank.

Movers Aren't Tip Creepers

Like wait staff at a restaurant, tipping movers doesn't mean they guilt you into tipping. In the moving industry, tipping is expected, especially if they did a good job. To be clear, you should always tip for good service.

Although tipping movers is not technically required, it is customary, so we do recommend it. A good rule of thumb is to tip $5 to $10 per person per hour, paid individually rather than as a lump sum. Generally, you will tip the crew members at the end of the move after they have provided their final service.

A common guideline suggests tipping between $20-$50 per mover depending on the complexity and length of the move. For instance, if you're moving across town with few items, $20 might suffice. But if you're relocating cross-country with heavy furniture pieces, then consider giving more.

Technically, tipping isn't required, and how much to tip your movers is at your discretion, but reliable experienced movers deserve to be compensated.
