Hi all. I'm not sure anyone can help after reading this post, but as this is a business community I hope you can assist. Sat night I was scammed and hacked by someone impersonating themselves as a representative from #Meta. I was accused of wrongdoing via a boosted post from my Carter Capital Group FB page, which after 6 emails I decided to respond to and protest the accusation. I followed the steps thinking I was doing the right thing by #Meta.Sunday I woke to find that not only was my personal account deactivated and deleted, losing 15+ years of photos and memories, which I can't get back, but all connections to my business accounts had been cut off. I spent 10 hours trying to resolve.FB being a free service doesn't provide a contact point to discuss these types of hacks with page owners. I have tried every number and email that I could find to contact #Facebook and #Meta but to no avail. It seems that unless you spend a huge amount on marketing, you are of no priority, and only. last week I was discussing and prepared to up our spending 10x. Surely, I am not the only one who would be happy to pay a fee to have what you created re-instated. Potential business opportunity?I would be beyond grateful if anyone could assist in offering advice or contact so that I could not just get my memories of children, friends and family but also the rightful ownership of pages that can be identified with my number and email address.Any advice or contact is greatly appreciated.

Still no help from Meta to recover my hacked FB-account. - My card details and paid on-going marketing can not be removed. - Our city project page main admin (me) removed and no one can add more users. - My company/association pages not accessible- My messenger discussions not accessible, many contacts lost.- My group of over 30 000 people not accessible. How on earth is this possible? No support, or user rights what so ever? It's not about waiting - I can wait, but the procedure of reporting hacked account does not work as adviced. I have recieved 0 confirmations or emails that this problem is even registered/noted.#meta #facebook #support #hacked

Is this the end of social media as we know it today? As Meta introduces Thread, have they demonstrated how desperate they are to keep mining personal data for gain? Thread will collect 14 different types of data (that we know about) that can be linked to an individual’s personal identity. It is clear that location and browser history will be identified, together with financial information, purchase history and even health data. The App Store also suggests that identifiers and 'sensitive information' will be collected, in addition to personal contact data. Not sure what else 'sensitive data' means and may be its connected with keeping track and analysis of the content posted, how you use the app and its diagnostics as well.Whilst it is suggested that 10 million people or organisations have signed up for Thread already and are willing to pay for the privilege, I suggest that this battle of Musk vs Zuckerberg is an important milestone for social media. Other platforms are also suffering from high overheads and reduced income as they dismiss large numbers of their workforces to maintain profits.I suggest that the massive income generation bubble is bursting, and Meta is running scared and needs to find more gullible people to feed its information selling empire. Thread will be a major indicator of the future of Meta. How do others see this playing out?#socialmedia #people #datamining #security #privacy #data

Facebook/Meta's hacked account recovery process is entirely broken. Both my Mom last month, and my wife today have had their Facebook account hacked, with strong, unique passwords. The accounts have new recovery emails and other changed content. I'm highly technical and have invested many hours attempting to help them recover with no success. In both cases, the account recovery process provided by Facebook is an infinite loop of asking for username and password. I have found no alternative path to recovery that works. This is unacceptable, particularly from a company of Meta's global influence and relevance. My account is not accessible either, but more likely to be the current known outage, not a hack.Friends on LinkedIn: Please help me correct this injustice by re-sharing this post to your network. Friends at Meta: I beg of you to put pressure on Meta leadership to address this. Please reach out to me. I am eager to help diagnose. I believe bots are used by hackers to persistently interfere with the recovery process.- Hoff

Concerns raised about the security of Meta's new Threads app !!!These concerns include:The app requests access to a wide range of user data, including location, contacts, and browsing history. This data could be used to track users' movements, target them with ads, or even impersonate them. The app does not have end-to-end encryption, meaning that Meta could potentially access users' messages. The app has been criticized for its lack of privacy settings. Users cannot control who sees their posts or who can add them to their Close Friends list.Meta has responded to these concerns by saying that it takes user privacy seriously and that it will not use users' data for advertising purposes. The company has also said that it is working on adding more privacy features to the app. However, some security experts remain concerned about the security of Threads. They argue that the app's data collection practices are too invasive and that it is not clear how Meta will protect users' privacy in the future. #technology#tech#engineering#innovation#artificialintelligence#ai#threads#meta#twitter#threadapp

Attention Facebook Business Page Owners,We regret to inform you that some malicious actors are targeting Facebook pages by sending fraudulent messages and impersonating the Meta Support team. These messages are entirely fake and should not be trusted. Please note that the legitimate Meta Support team rarely contacts users via Messenger. If you ever receive a message claiming to be from Meta Support, be cautious, especially if it contains links or requests for sensitive information.Remember, the official Meta Support team messages on Messenger are verified with a blue tick. However, these messages are rare, and most account-related notifications appear in your account review section, not directly through Messenger.Your security is our utmost priority, and we want to ensure that you remain protected. Please refrain from opening any links or providing personal information in these fake messages, as doing so could compromise the security of your Meta business account.Thank you for your attention to this matter, and please do not hesitate to reach out to us if you have any concerns or require assistance.Safeguarding your online presence is paramount to us.Best regards360 Digital Eyes | Choudary Babar Hussain| Shazla Shamim

🗣️Phishing Alert! To my network. I just received a message from someone pretending to be Meta . They claim that our business account is restricted and they provided a link for "review request" where they ask me to upload my personal ID and other confidential company documents.A closer look; 1. Our Facebook business account is functioning as usual.2. The mail address is sketchy. 3. The landing website -although looks similar to original Meta web pages- is full of typos and broken links. 4. The landing URL is sketchy.5. Requested information is not related to the actual problem. 6. The email address which I received this email is only used on our store page and not shared with Meta. Since this email address is available on our store pages I assume this is how those folks are targeting people. Be aware, be safe and have a great day!
