The Moscow vehicle manufacturer Avtoros has also taken up this balloon tire topic. Around the gigantic special tires developed by Avtoros, 1.2 meters high and more than half a meter wide, they constructed an 8x8 off-road transporter that has it all.
The Avtoros Shaman 8x8 is powered by one modern Iveco turbodiesel. The three-liter engine delivers 176 hp and can accelerate the Avtoros Shaman 8x8 up to 70 km /h. The dimensions are impressive: the Avtoros Shaman 8x8 is 6.4 meters long, 2.5 meters wide and 2.7 meters high. The monster tires also give it princely ground clearance: 450 millimeters. When it comes to the axle construction, Avtoros relies on identical parts: four double wishbones are flanged to the right and left of the central frame, which are driven by freely rotating quick-release axles. There are two advantages to this design: spare parts management is considerably easier because all wheel suspensions are identical. And all wheels can be steered.
Each axis can be swiveled in the desired direction if necessary. Whether 'crab walking' sideways or in the opposite direction for a minimal turning circle, the possible applications are diverse. All axles have differential locks. With the Avtoros Shaman 8x8, the driver sits in the middle of a central co*ckpit and steers using a conventional steering wheel. Behind the pilot, up to nine seats or a large cargo area can be created as required. Depending on the ground, the Avtoros Shaman 8x8 can load up to 1.5 tons. The Avtoros Shaman weighs around 4.8 tons empty, depending on the equipment.

The Avtoros Shaman is made by the Russian company offered at prices from EUR 183,250. It is available with different tire sizes. Additional extras are also available, including a winch, a screw drive for water travel, an automatic tire inflation system, leather upholstery or a roof air conditioning system, as is also installed on the ambulance.
